Cancer Awareness and Screening Programs

From its inception, Jeevodaya has been focussing on creating awareness about Cancer and its prevention through awareness programs conducted in schools, Colleges, Industries, Offices and Social Work Organisations. A particular emphasis has been on tobacco and the ill effects of its usage.

Screening for common cancers such Oral, Breast and Cervical cancers are conducted periodically in association with other Social work groups in urban slums and rural areas. Such camps are preceded by an awareness program and women are taught about self examination of breast to detect early cancers and the importance of having a PAP smear examination periodically according to age to detect early cervical cancer.

We are also conducting mammography camps in association with an NGO which offers these mobile services. Click here for photos
