The first meeting to start a hospice for cancer patients

The first meeting of F.C.C.Sisters, Fr. Jacob Pudussery, Dr. Udaya Mahadevan and Dr. Manjula Krishnaswamy, to decide discuss on the new project for cancer patients later to be called Jeevodaya.

The Foundation Stone blessing of Jeevodaya Hospice

First public function held at German hall, T.Nagar, Chennai. The Foundation Stone blessed by His Grace late. Casimir Gnanadickam and leaders of all other religions like Hindu, Islam, Sikh, Jain and Buddhist. It was a unique and memorable experience to see all the religious leaders on the same podium to stand for the cause of Cancer. It was also the first fund raising program of Jeevodaya.

Palliative Care introduced to the public of Chennai by Ms. Gilly Burn

At a function organized at German hall, by Ms. Gilly Burn, Representative of the WHO for Palliative Care. She is presently the Director of Cancer Relief India. Social Welfare Minister Thiru Indirakumari, and Social Welfare Director Dhenndhayalan IAS and all the well wishers of Jeevodaya were present on the occasion.

NOT “No to Tobacco” the program organized in collaboration with the NGO “ Celebrating Life” – a program for school children. More than 12 schools participated in this program. Prizes awarded to the winners who participated in various competitions in function conducted at Adyar Cancer hospital after the winners interacting with Dr. V. Shantha founder and MD of this institute.
